Image Analysis

Image analysis produces the basic data used in many of the analyses conducted at GXStat.  The most common images we analyze are photomicrographs of petrographic thin sections and cuttings along with SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) data.  We have performed special studies to extract specific information for the customer.  Using our expertise in geology, specialized techniques can be developed to custom fit a solution to your image analysis needs.

Many of the same techniques we use have their roots in satellite, astronomical and biologic image analysis. While our main expertise is in the geologic/petroleum industry, many of our approaches might be appropriate to other areas as well.  We are open to combining our expertise with yours to solve meaningful problems in any field.
